My first Vlog of 2012.
It has been a while since I got on camera and shot a video. I am so glad I did! I enjoy sharing what knowledge I have for crafting and being yourself that I knew it was time to just go for it. Check out my first video of 2012 and I look forward to reading your comments!
Happy New Year’s Eve and hello 2012!!
This year has gone by like so many have in the past, but this one was filled with wonderful memories, great new friends, projects, Conventions, moving, and change. I have taken the last couple weeks to relax and reflect on what has been and what is to be. So I am getting ready to hit this New Year hard! I am planning on attending a couple Conventions as a seller, buying supplies, creating new ideas, and working hard to bring you new products to help you express your Gothic self.
What should you expect? More Cyberlox, polyclay necklaces, and more Steampunk inspired jewelry. While I am still seeking out a seamstress to make my fashion designs a reality, I will be working on other creations. I am planning to add videos and tutorials to theotherscene.com on how I create the items. These are big plans for the coming year, but I am working on making them a reality!
Keep posted, have a fabulous New Year’s Eve and I will see you next year!!
Steampunk Necklace, The Gears of Time
This project was a difficult one indeed and it almost wraps up my September project even if it’s October. The ties and all of the gears are hand stitched to the imported velvet ribbon. I used pieces of watches I took apart a while ago with a couple new components I purchased more recently. Read more on Steampunk Necklace, The Gears of Time
Project Update
This is where things get iffy for me. I go into a project full on then half way through I seem to stop or pause. The past week, thinking up Punk Lolita things has been a challenge. Especially with working part time, taking a business class, choir, and all the other things I am doing. THESE ARE NO EX CUSES! I know. That being said, I have sought out research and gathering supplies. I will not let this pause detour me from my objective. So what I am going to do to keep pace is to work on Steampunk projects. I have 2 in mind. One is a pair of goggles and the other a simple necklace. Things might take me a bit longer, but I will not quit! Keep posted and see how I do in the next few weeks.
Punk Lolita week, oh the bows!
BOWS!!! I told you I had an issue, but I think I need to turn my love for bows into creations. They are not fully complete because I realized when I was creating them that I really want Swarovski crystals in the center of the bows. They will be attached to stainless steel curvy clips. It also takes a lot of time to make the bows so I will have to report back on these pieces once they are finished. I am now working on another idea so stay tuned for the next item. Finishing up week 2 of random projects
This past week has been so crazy! I didn’t get to what I wanted to completely, but was able to finish up these cute little Cyberlox bows. I attached them to mini barrettes, I’m finding I like the curvy clips more than barrettes, but want to use up what I have in stock. Read more on Finishing up week 2 of random projects
Week Two of September Project: Hair Falls
It took me a little longer than anticipated with everything else going on in my life, but I have finished four sets of hair falls. They are all made out of Kanekalon fiber and are ball mounted. Two are extra thick and two are of normal thickness. I love playing with hair! These falls are so fabulous. You can change your look with little to no effort. As you can see, they are just displayed on my rack that I use to create them and the pictures that display them separate will be up on my site soon. Two more Gothic items
What a creative first week it has truly been. I was on a roll and decided to make 2 more products. I simply love Sterling Silver and Swarovski Crystal. The first is a set of earrings that I created using Argentium Sterling Silver jump rings, Swarovski Crystal hearts and beads, and handmade French ear wires. Read more on Two more Gothic items
